When using Rename Data Table, the most common questions are about whether data changes, whether collaborators can see the update, and why the rename option is missing; this FAQ includes 3 common questions and a glossary.
FAQ
Does renaming change the data inside the table?
- No. Renaming changes only the displayed name of the data table or dashboard.
- The data, fields, and existing content inside the page stay the same.
- Open the page again after renaming if you want to confirm the content is unchanged.
Can other collaborators see the new name after I rename it?
- Yes. The updated name is used in later collaboration views.
- Ask collaborators to refresh or reopen the table to check the latest tab name.
- If many people work in the same table, use a shared naming rule so pages are easier to identify.
Why can’t I find the Rename option?
- First confirm that you opened a multidimensional table and that data table or dashboard tabs are visible at the bottom.
- Double-tap the target tab instead of tapping it only once.
- If the option still does not appear, reopen the file and locate the target tab again.
