- Open the table you want to edit.
- Click the + button on the right side of the header.
- Select Parent Record from the field type list.
- Enter a field name.
- Click OK to finish creating the field.
- If the current record is a child record, the field can display the matching parent record content.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: A new Parent Record field appears in the table.
- Next action available: Child rows can display the matching parent record content.

- Common mistake: If you choose another field type, the new field will not display parent information.

2. View parent content in a child record
Entry: the existing Parent Record field column
- Open a table that already contains parent-child hierarchy data.
- Find the Parent Record field column.
- Check the field value in the child record row.
- Confirm which parent record the child record belongs to.

- Interface result: The Parent Record field in the child row shows the matching parent content.

- Select the parent record you want to delete in the table.
- Delete the selected record.

- Confirm that those child records are automatically promoted to the same level as independent records.
