1. Create a date field
Entry: Click the + button on the right side of the header, then choose Date.
- Click the + button on the right side of the table header.
- Select Date from the field type list.
- Enter a field name.
- Click OK to finish.

- Interface result: A new date-type column appears in the table.

- Common mistake: If you choose another field type instead of Date, the new column will not behave as expected.

2. Set the date format
Entry: Right-click the field title, then open Field Settings and find the date format area.
- Right-click the date field title.
- Select Field Settings.
- Turn on Show weekday if needed.
- Turn on Show time if needed.
- Turn on Mark rest days if needed.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The field displays dates with the selected weekday or time options.
- Next action: You can enter dates and review the updated display style.

3. Set default values
Entry: Right-click the field title, then open Field Settings and find Default Value.
- Right-click the date field title.
- Select Field Settings.
- In Default Value, choose None, Specified date, or Date this record is added.
- Close the settings panel or continue editing other field options.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: New records follow the selected default rule or stay blank.
- Next action: Add a new record to confirm that the default value works as expected.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: If you choose Specified date, make sure the fixed date fits future records.
- Suggestion: If you want each new row to carry the current date automatically, use Date this record is added.
4. Enter a date
Entry: Click the target cell to open the date picker.
- Click the target date cell.
- Select the required date in the date picker.
- If the field is set to show time, enter the exact time as well.
- Return to the table and review the result.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The cell shows the selected date and, when enabled, the selected time.
- Next action: You can edit the value again or continue filling other records.

- Common mistake: If time display is not enabled, users may expect time details to appear automatically.
