How-to Guide

1. Create a Currency Field

Entry point: the "+" button on the right side of the table header → Field Type drop-down list → Currency field

  1. Click the "+" button on the right side of the table header.
  2. In the field type list, select Currency.
  3. Enter the field name.
  4. Click OK to finish.

Success Criteria

  • UI state: A new currency field column appears in the table.
  • Next actions: You can continue opening field settings to adjust the currency and number format.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistakes: If you cannot find the Currency field entry, first confirm that you are working in an editable DBSheet view.

2. Set the Currency Symbol

Entry point: right-click the field title → Field Settings → Currency option

  1. Right-click the currency field title.
  2. Select Field Settings.
  3. In the Currency drop-down list, choose the currency you need, such as RMB or USD.

Success Criteria

  • UI state: Amounts in the field display with the selected currency symbol.
  • Next actions: Existing values continue to display with the updated currency format.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistakes: Changing the currency symbol changes the display format, not the underlying numeric value.

3. Set Decimal Places

Entry point: right-click the field title → Field Settings → Number Format option

  1. Right-click the currency field title.
  2. Select Field Settings.
  3. In Number Format, choose how many decimal places to keep.
  4. Check the display result in the field after the change.

Success Criteria

  • UI state: Amounts in the field display with the selected number of decimal places.
  • Next actions: New and edited values continue to follow the same display rule.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistakes: Decimal places affect display precision, so it is helpful to define the rule before large-scale entry.

4. Set a Default Value

Entry point: right-click the field title → Field Settings → Default Value option

  1. Right-click the currency field title.
  2. Select Field Settings.
  3. Enter the default amount in Default Value.
  4. Save the setting and check the field when creating a new record.

Success Criteria

  • UI state: New records automatically show the default value in this currency field.
  • Next actions: The default value can still be edited manually later.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistakes: A default value usually affects new records only and does not automatically rewrite existing records.
