1. Enable Smart Fill

Entry point: Data tab → Smart Fill

1. In a new column next to the source data, enter one expected result as an example.
2. Select the example cell and the target range below it that you want to fill.
3. Click Smart Fill on the Data tab.
4. Wait for the app to recognize the pattern and fill the remaining cells automatically.

Success Criteria

• UI state: The target range shows results generated with the same pattern.
• Next actions: You can review the results, edit individual cells, or save the file.
• No side effects: The original data column stays unchanged.

Tips While Using

• Common mistakes: If you select only the example cell and not the target range below it, the fill range may be incomplete.
• Environment limits: At least one clear and recognizable example is needed.

2. Run a Smart Extraction Example

Entry point: Enter an extraction example → Command + E

1. In the target cell, enter one extraction example, such as extracting a last name from a full name.
2. Select the example cell and the following range where results should be generated.
3. Press Command + E.
4. Check whether the app fills the remaining rows with the same extraction rule.

Success Criteria

• UI state: The following rows automatically show extracted content based on the example rule.
• Next actions: You can adjust the example and run it again until the result matches your needs.
• No side effects: The source column is not overwritten.

• Common mistakes: If the example is not clear enough, the app may not recognize the extraction rule accurately.

3. Run a Smart Merge Example

Entry point: Enter a merge example → Smart Fill

1. In a new column, enter one target result that shows how multiple columns should be merged.
2. Select the example and the target range below it.
3. Click Smart Fill to trigger recognition.
4. Check whether text, numbers, and other values have been merged automatically with the same rule.

Success Criteria

• UI state: The target column shows merged results in a consistent format.
• Next actions: You can copy the results, save them as a new file, or use them for later analysis.
• No side effects: The original columns used for merging stay unchanged.
