1. Open the Merge Tables entry

Entry path: DataMerge Tables

  1. Open a WPS Spreadsheet online collaborative document.
  2. Click the Data tab at the top.
  3. Find the Merge Tables button on the right side of the toolbar.
  4. Click it to view the drop-down options Merge Tables and Re-merge.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: the Merge Tables button and its drop-down menu are visible.
  • Next action available: you can continue with Merge Tables or Re-merge.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: if no spreadsheet file is open, the related entry may not be visible.

2. Merge multiple worksheets for the first time

Entry path: DataMerge TablesMerge Tables

  1. Click Merge Tables to open the Merge Worksheets dialog box.
  2. Click the Select... link in the upper-right area.
  3. In the file selector, choose one or more worksheets to merge.
  4. Set options as needed, including Worksheet contains headers, Header row count, Remove duplicate rows, Merge to, Mark data source, and Auto-update data.
  5. Choose to output the result to a New worksheet or another target location.
  6. Click Start Merge to run the merge.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: a new merged worksheet is created, or the result is written to the selected location.
  • Next action available: you can review, edit, and save the merged data.
  • No side effect: the original source worksheets remain unchanged.

3. Re-merge an existing result

  1. After the source worksheet data changes, open the summary file that needs to be refreshed.
  2. Click Merge Tables on the Data tab.
  3. Select Re-merge from the drop-down menu.
  4. Wait for WPS to refresh the result based on the previous merge settings.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: the summary result is updated with the latest data.
  • Next action available: you can continue using the result sheet without reselecting the source data and options.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: if no valid merged result was created previously, direct refresh may not be available.
