1. Apply or remove italic formatting

Entry point: Home tab → Italic button (I icon)

  1. Select the cell that you want to format, or double-tap the cell to enter editing mode and select part of the text.
  2. Tap the Home tab.
  3. In the font formatting area, tap Italic.
  4. Check whether the text is now displayed in italics.
  5. To remove the style, tap Italic again.

Success Criteria

  • UI state: The selected text appears in italics, and tapping the button again returns it to the normal style.
  • Next actions: You can continue typing, editing, saving, or combining italics with other text formatting such as bold.
  • No side effects: Italic formatting changes only the display style and does not affect the cell data.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistakes: If no cell or text is selected first, the expected formatting result may not appear.
  • Environment limits: If the file is read-only, you may not be able to change the text format.
