1. Insert cells from the Insert tab

Entry: Bottom Insert tab → Insert Cell

  1. Open a spreadsheet and go to the position where you want to insert cells, or select the target cell or range first.
  2. Tap the Insert tab at the bottom.
  3. Tap Insert Cell.
  4. Choose Insert Cell, Shift Right or Insert Cell, Shift Down.
  5. Check the result and confirm that nearby data moved in the expected direction.

Success Criteria

  • On-screen result: New blank cells appear in the selected position, and surrounding cells move in the chosen direction.
  • Next action available: You can continue entering data, adjusting formatting, or using Undo.

2. Insert cells from the floating menu

Entry: Cell floating toolbar → More ActionsInsert Cell, Shift Right/Down

  2. Tap the cell to open the floating editing menu.
  3. Tap More Actions in the floating menu.
  4. Select Insert Cell, Shift Right or Insert Cell, Shift Down.
