  3. Click the drop-down menu next to Checkbox.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The selected cell shows a clickable checkbox.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If you do not select the target cell first, the checkbox may be added to an unexpected area.
  • Environment note: If the target cell already contains content, it is not suitable for direct checkbox setup.

2. Clear a Checkbox

Entry path: Insert tab → drop-down menu next to Checkbox → Clear Checkbox

  1. Select the cell that contains the checkbox you want to remove.
  2. Click the Insert tab.
  3. Click the drop-down menu next to Checkbox.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The checkbox is removed from the selected cell.
  • Next action available: The cell can be edited again as a regular spreadsheet cell.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If the target range is not selected accurately, only part of the checkbox area may be cleared.

3. Set a Column Type to Checkbox

Entry path: three-dot icon next to the column label → Column Type → Checkbox

  1. Click the three-dot icon next to the target column label.
  2. Open the Column Type menu.
  3. Select Checkbox.
  4. The entire column is then set to checkbox content.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: Cells in the current column display as checkboxes.
  • Next action available: You can check or uncheck items throughout the column.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: Applying the column type to the wrong column changes the display method for the whole column.
  • Environment note: Cells that already contain text are not suitable for direct conversion to a checkbox column.
