How-to Index

How-to Guide

1. Turn Filter On or Off

Entry point: Filter in the bottom toolbar

  1. Select the rows, columns, or cell range you want to filter. In most cases, it is recommended to include the header row.
  2. Tap Filter in the bottom toolbar.
  3. Check whether filter drop-down arrows appear next to each column header.
  4. If you want to turn filtering off, tap Filter again.

Success Criteria

  • UI state: After Filter is turned on, drop-down arrows appear next to column headers; after it is turned off, the arrows disappear.
  • Next actions: You can tap the filter arrow in any column header to set filter conditions.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistakes: If the wrong data range is selected, the filter range may be incomplete.
  • Environment limits: It is recommended to use the first row as the header row so each field can be identified more clearly.

2. Filter by Condition

Entry point: tap the filter arrow in a column header

  1. Tap the drop-down arrow next to the column header you want to filter.
  2. In the filter menu, choose By Content or By Color.
  3. If you want to change the display order, tap Ascending/Descending at the top.
  4. If you want to find a value quickly, enter a keyword in the search box.
  5. Turn the visibility option for filtered results on or off as needed to adjust the display scope.

Success Criteria

  • UI state: The worksheet shows only matching records, or the results appear in the new order.
  • Next actions: You can continue changing conditions, clear the filter, or move to another column to filter again.
  • No side effects: The original data is not deleted; non-matching rows are only hidden temporarily.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistakes: Data in hidden rows or columns is not shown in the filter results.
  • Environment limits: In collaborative worksheets, whether results are visible to others depends on the current visibility setting.
