1. Use drag-to-fill

Entry path: Select a cell and drag the fill handle at the lower-right corner of the cell

  1. Enter data or a formula in the starting cell.
  2. Select the cell and move the pointer to the lower-right corner.
  3. When the pointer changes to the fill handle, drag down or across.
  4. Release the mouse to fill based on the detected pattern, such as increasing numbers, continued dates, or adjusted formula references.
