- No side effect: tapping another area returns the sheet to normal editing mode.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: if no cell is selected first, the Fill entry may not appear.
- Environment note: Fill writes directly to the target area, so check the destination cells before applying it.
2. Switch Fill Modes
Entry point: Top area of the Fill interface
- Complete one drag fill action first.
- Find Switch to Copy Fill at the top of the Fill interface and tap it.
- The result will stop recognizing increasing or decreasing sequences and will copy the existing value instead.
- If you want pattern-based extension again, tap Switch to Series Fill.
- Preview the result, then tap another area of the spreadsheet to exit Fill mode.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: a mode switch button appears at the top of the interface, and its label changes with the current mode.
- Next action available: the fill result changes according to copy or series rules.
- No side effect: after you exit Fill mode, the completed result remains in the target area.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: if you do not check the current button label, you may use Copy Fill when you intended Series Fill, or the reverse.
- Environment note: Fill can replace existing data in the target area, so confirm important content before applying it.
