1. Insert a formula from the ribbon
Entry path: Insert tab → Formula
- Place the cursor where you want the formula to appear.
- Click the Insert tab.
- Select Formula.
- When the formula editor opens, enter the formula content.
- Use LaTeX syntax as needed.
- Confirm to insert the formula into the document.
What success looks like
- Interface result: A new formula appears at the cursor position.
- Next action: You can continue writing, adjust layout, or edit the formula again.

- Common mistake: If the cursor is not placed first, the formula may be inserted in an unexpected location.

2. Insert a formula with the slash command
Entry path: Paragraph input → / → Formula
- Type
/in a paragraph to open the quick menu. - Type formula or equation to filter the list.
- Select Formula to open the editor.
- Enter the formula content and confirm the insertion.
What success looks like
- Interface result: The quick menu shows the Formula option and opens the editor.
- Next action: After insertion, you can keep editing nearby content in the same area.
Notes
- Common mistake: After typing
/, if you do not continue filtering, you may need to find the target item manually in the menu.
3. Insert a formula with the paragraph handle
Entry path: Left-side + paragraph handle → Formula
- Place the cursor near the location where you want to add the formula.
- Click the left-side
+paragraph handle. - Choose Formula from the menu.
- When the formula editor opens, enter the formula.
- Confirm to finish the insertion.
What success looks like
- Interface result: A formula block is added at the current location.
- Next action: You can continue adding paragraph content before or after the formula.
Notes
- Common mistake: If the pointer is not near the paragraph area, the left-side handle may not appear immediately.
4. Edit an inserted formula
Entry path: Select formula → Floating toolbar → Edit
- Select the formula that is already in the document.
- Click Edit on the floating toolbar.
- Modify the content in the formula editor.
- Confirm to update the formula.
What success looks like
- Interface result: The original formula is replaced with the updated version.
- Next action: You can continue checking layout or reopen the editor again if needed.
