1. Insert an add-in from the Insert tab

Entry path: Insert tab → Add-insInteractive Guide Card

  1. Place the cursor where you want to insert the add-in.
  2. Click the Insert tab on the ribbon.
  3. Select Add-ins.
  4. Click Interactive Guide Card to add it.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: a new interactive guide card appears in the document.
  • You can continue: you can select the card and keep editing it.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: if the cursor is not placed in the target location, the card may be inserted into a different paragraph.
  • Environment note: if online content loads slowly, check your internet connection.

2. Insert an add-in from the paragraph handle

Entry path: paragraph + handle → Add-insInteractive Guide Card

  1. Place the cursor where you want to insert the add-in.
  2. Click the + handle on the left side of the paragraph.
  3. Select Add-ins from the menu.
  4. Click Interactive Guide Card to add it.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: an interactive guide card is inserted near the current paragraph.
  • You can continue: you can keep editing the document or select the card for settings.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: if the pointer is not over the paragraph area, the left-side + entry may not appear.

3. Edit an interactive guide card

Entry path: interactive guide card floating toolbar

  1. Click the interactive guide card that has already been inserted.
  2. Click Edit on the floating toolbar.
  3. Add or remove interactive options as needed.
  4. You can configure options such as Share Document, Save Document, and Follow Document Updates.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: the options shown in the card match your current settings.
  • You can continue: the document can continue to be shared, saved, or followed for updates.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: if the card is not selected first, the floating toolbar will not appear.
  • Environment note: following document updates may require notification permission.
