How-to Guide
1. Open the Markdown import entry
Entry path: Edit button in the lower-right corner → + icon in the bottom toolbar → Markdown Import
- Open a Smart Document.
- Tap the Edit button in the lower-right corner.
- Tap the paragraph position where you want to insert the Markdown content.
- Tap the + icon in the bottom toolbar.
- Tap Markdown Import in the feature list.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: the file selection flow opens and is ready for you to choose a Markdown file.
- Next action available: you can select a
.mdfile from the device file locations.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: if you do not enter editing mode first, the bottom editing toolbar may not appear.
- Environment note: a reachable
.mdfile should already exist on the device.
2. Select and import a .md file
Entry path: Markdown Import → file picker
- Find the
.mdfile that you want to import in the file selection interface. - Tap the target file.
- Wait for the upload and import process to finish.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: the Markdown content is inserted into the current Smart Document.
- Next action available: you can continue browsing, editing, or adding content after import.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: if you choose a non-
.mdfile, the import may not complete as expected.- Environment note: if the file is stored in a cloud location, network access or file permissions may be required.
3. Review the imported result and keep editing
Entry path: the current Smart Document after import
- Review headings, lists, code blocks, quotes, and other imported content structures.
- Check whether any paragraph styles need adjustment.
- Continue typing, revising, or adding content as needed.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: the imported content is visible in the current document.
- Next action available: you can continue editing without importing the file again.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: skipping a format check after import may leave small formatting issues unnoticed.
- Environment note: if some formatting does not appear exactly as expected, you can adjust it manually after import.
