  • Next action available: you can continue selecting paragraphs and adjusting hierarchy.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: if you do not enter editing mode first, the formatting tools will not appear.
  • Environment note: you need to open a smart document before you can adjust indent directly.

2. Increase paragraph indent

Entry: Select a paragraph → Alignment and Indent → Increase Indent

  1. Select the paragraph that needs to move to the right.
  2. Tap Alignment and Indent.
  3. Tap Increase Indent.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: the selected paragraph moves to the right relative to the left page edge.
  • Next action available: you can repeat the action or switch to another paragraph.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: if the target paragraph is not selected first, you may change the paragraph where the cursor is placed instead.
  • Environment note: the current workflow is focused on increasing or decreasing indent, not on additional indent types.

3. Decrease paragraph indent

Entry: Select a paragraph → Alignment and Indent → Decrease Indent

  1. Select a paragraph that already has indent or needs to move left.
  2. Tap Alignment and Indent.
  3. Tap Decrease Indent.
  4. Check whether the paragraph returns to the expected left position.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: the selected paragraph moves back to the left and looks closer to the default hierarchy.
  • Next action available: you can continue adjusting other paragraphs to keep the document structure consistent.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: tapping too many times can move the paragraph back farther than expected.
  • Environment note: headings or lists may look slightly different from normal body paragraphs.
