Why does my heading not appear in the table of contents?

  1. Make sure the text uses a heading style instead of only manual font-size or bold formatting.
  2. Check whether the heading is in the main document body. Headings inside highlighted blocks or tables may not appear in the table of contents.
  3. Confirm that the document is using the relevant table-of-contents or structure-view method, then check again.

How should I choose heading levels?

  1. Use H1 for the main document title.
