1. Set alignment from the floating toolbar

Feature path: Select a paragraph → Floating toolbar → Alignment & Indentation

  1. Place the cursor in the paragraph you want to adjust, or select multiple paragraphs first.
  2. Find the Alignment & Indentation button in the floating toolbar.
  3. Select the alignment mode you need, such as left, center, or right.
  4. If you want a cleaner page layout, select justified alignment.

Success Criteria

  • The text position in the current paragraph changes immediately.
  • When you click the paragraph again, the new alignment state remains applied.

Tips While Using

  • The floating toolbar is easier to access after text is selected.
  • The alignment setting applies to the current paragraph or the selected content.

2. Set alignment from the ribbon

Feature path: Select a paragraph → Top ribbon → Alignment

  1. Place the cursor in the target paragraph, or select multiple paragraphs that need consistent formatting.
  2. Find the Alignment button in the top ribbon.
  3. Click Left, Center, Right, or Justify.
  4. Check whether the paragraph layout matches what you want.

Success Criteria

  • The selected paragraphs are rearranged according to the chosen alignment.
  • Continued typing in the current paragraph keeps the same alignment state.

Tips While Using

  • You can select multiple paragraphs and apply one alignment setting at once.
  • Center alignment is often used for titles, while left or justified alignment is often used for body text.

3. Set alignment from the paragraph handle

Feature path: Select a paragraph → Paragraph handle icon → Alignment & Indentation

  1. Place the cursor in the paragraph you want to adjust.
  2. Click the paragraph handle icon on the left side.
  3. In the expanded options, click Alignment & Indentation.
  4. Select the alignment mode you need and review the result.

Success Criteria

  • The current paragraph switches to the selected alignment.
  • The paragraph structure and text content stay the same, while only the layout position changes.

  • This entry is useful for fine-tuning one paragraph at a time.
  • In a long document, locate the target paragraph first and then apply the change.

4. Set alignment with keyboard shortcuts

Feature path: Select a paragraph → Keyboard shortcuts

  1. Place the cursor in the target paragraph, or select the text you want to adjust.
  2. Press Ctrl + L for left alignment.
  3. Press Ctrl + E for center alignment, or press Ctrl + R for right alignment.
  4. Press Ctrl + J for justified alignment.

  • After you press a shortcut, the paragraph switches to the corresponding alignment immediately.
  • You can complete the formatting change without opening extra menus.
