1. Open the file upload entry
Entry: Form editor → Form → File Upload
- Open the Smart Forms editing page.
- Select the Form module in the left navigation.
- Find the File Upload option.
- Click File Upload to enter the editing area.

- Next step available: you can continue to adjust settings or review the current configuration.

- Common mistake: if you are not in the form editing page first, the File Upload option may not appear.

2. Set upload options and preview
Entry: File Upload settings panel
- In the File Upload settings panel, adjust the available options shown in the interface.
- Check whether the upload field display and instructions match the needs of the form.
- Open preview and confirm how the upload field appears to respondents.
- If needed, return to the settings panel and adjust the configuration again.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: the preview shows the file upload field as expected.
- Next step available: you can continue editing or move to the save step.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: saving without previewing may leave the display different from what you expected.
- Environment note: an internet connection is recommended when previewing online forms.
3. Save the file upload configuration
Entry: File Upload settings panel → Confirm / Save
- After finishing the settings, review the current configuration again.
- Click Confirm to complete the file upload setup.
- If the form editor also provides a Save button, save the form changes there as well.
- Reopen preview or test the later response flow to confirm that the configuration is active.

- Interface result: the current settings remain available when you reopen the configuration.
- Next step available: you can continue editing other form items or publish the form.

- Common mistake: if you only adjust settings but do not click Confirm or Save, the configuration may not be kept.
