1. Open the Text Pane

Entry: Design tab → Text Pane

1. Select the WPS Art graphic.
2. Click the Design tab at the top.
3. Find and click Text Pane.
4. Check whether the text editing pane opens on the left.
5. Confirm that the pane shows Type your text here and the item list.

Success Criteria

• Interface result: A text editing pane appears on the left side.
• What you can do next: You can view and edit graphic items in the pane.

Tips While Using

• Select the WPS Art graphic first, or the entry may not be available.
• The pane shows text structure rather than graphic styling.

2. Expand the Text Pane quickly

Entry: Left border of the WPS Art graphic → expand button

1. Select the WPS Art graphic.
2. Find the > button on the left border of the graphic.
3. Click the button.
4. Check whether the Text Pane expands immediately.

Success Criteria

• Interface result: The Text Pane expands quickly from the left side of the graphic.
• What you can do next: You can start typing or adjusting item content right away.

Tips While Using

• This entry is useful when you want to open the pane during graphic editing.
• If the graphic is not selected, the button may be hard to see or unavailable.

3. Edit item content in the Text Pane

Entry: Open Text Pane

1. Open the Text Pane with one of the methods above.
2. Click the item you want to edit in the list.
3. Type directly to change the current item text.
4. Press Enter to add a new peer item.
5. Continue typing the new item text.
6. Check whether the matching content in the graphic updates at the same time.

Success Criteria

• Interface result: The item text in the pane is updated.
• What you can do next: The matching node in the graphic changes at the same time, and you can continue adding items.

Tips While Using

• Edits in the Text Pane are reflected in the graphic in real time.
• If you need to enter several items in a row, combine this with Enter for faster input.

4. Adjust item levels in the Text Pane

Entry: Open Text Pane

1. Select the target item in the Text Pane.
2. Press Tab to demote the current item to a lower level.
3. Press Shift+Tab to promote the current item to a higher level.
4. Press Delete to remove the current item.
5. Check whether the indentation and graphic structure update together.

Success Criteria

• Interface result: The item indentation changes, or the selected item is removed.
• What you can do next: The graphic structure stays aligned with the hierarchy shown in the pane.

Tips While Using

• Tab and Shift+Tab are useful for organizing tree-style structures.
• Deleting an item also affects the matching node in the graphic, so confirm the content before removing it.
