When using WPS Art Layout, common questions usually involve when layout commands are available, what the change affects, and which entry point to use; this section includes 3 common questions and a glossary.

FAQ

What should I do if the layout options are grayed out?

  1. Confirm that the item you want to adjust is selected.
  2. Check whether the selected item contains child items.
  3. If the current level has no child items, add or complete the hierarchy first and then use the layout command.

Does the layout change affect only the child items of the current item?

  1. Yes. The layout setting affects only the arrangement of the child items under the selected item.
  2. Other unselected parts do not change at the same time.
  3. To adjust another part, select that item separately and apply a layout again.

Should I use the ribbon or the floating toolbar?

  1. Use the Design tab if you prefer following a menu path step by step.
  2. Use the floating toolbar if you want to switch layouts more quickly while editing.
  3. Both entry points can complete the same layout change, so you can choose the one that fits your editing habit.
