1. Apply Preset Shadows

Entry point: Text Tools → Text Effects → Shadow

  1. Select the text that you want to add a shadow to.
  2. On the top menu bar, open the Text Tools tab and click Text Effects.
  3. Select Shadow.
  4. In the pop-up panel, choose a preset shadow style such as outer shadow, inner shadow, or perspective shadow.
  5. Check whether the selected text updates immediately.

Success Criteria

  • The selected text shows a visible shadow effect.
  • The text content itself remains unchanged.
  • You can continue editing, saving, or adjusting the style.

Tips While Using

  • Select the text first, then open the shadow menu so the entry is available.
  • Preset styles change the current text appearance right away, so confirm the selection before applying one.

2. Customize Shadow Settings

Entry point: Text Tools → Text Effects → More Settings → Text Options → Effects → Shadow

  1. Select the target text.
  2. Click Text Effects under the Text Tools tab.
  3. Click More Settings to open the Object Properties panel on the right.
  4. Under Text Options, select Effects.
  5. Expand the Shadow settings section.
  6. Adjust color, transparency, size, blur, and distance.
  7. Drag the Angle slider as needed to change the shadow direction.
  8. Review the live preview and click a blank area to finish.

Success Criteria

  • Changes to shadow settings appear on the text in real time.
  • The shadow direction, depth, and range fit the current slide design.
  • The text remains editable after the settings are applied.

Tips While Using

  • If the shadow is too dark or too far away, text clarity may be affected.
  • On dark backgrounds, try a brighter or clearer shadow. On light backgrounds, increase contrast as needed.
