1. Add Highlight

Entry: Home / Text Tools tab → Highlight button

  1. Select the text you want to highlight.
  2. Click the Highlight button on the Home or Text Tools tab.
  3. The selected text is applied with the current background highlight color.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The selected text shows a background highlight effect.
  • Next action available: You can continue editing text or save the presentation.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If you do not select text first, the action may not apply to the target content.
  • Environment note: The text object needs to be in an editable state.

2. Choose a Highlight Color

Entry: Home / Text Tools tab → Highlight drop-down menu

  1. Select the text you want to highlight.
  2. Click the drop-down arrow next to Highlight.
  3. Choose the highlight color you want from the palette.
  4. The selected text is applied with the corresponding background highlight color.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The text background changes to the selected highlight color.
  • Next action available: You can continue applying the same color to other text.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If no text is selected, you may not see the effect immediately after choosing a color.
  • Environment note: The current workflow focuses on preset color choices.

3. Use the Floating Toolbar

Entry: Select text → Floating Toolbar → Highlight button

  1. Select the text you want to highlight.
  2. Wait for the floating toolbar to appear automatically.
  3. Click the Highlight button on the floating toolbar.
  4. Continue choosing a color if needed and finish the setting.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The floating toolbar appears and the text is highlighted successfully.
  • Next action available: You can emphasize text without switching to the top ribbon.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If the text is no longer selected, the floating toolbar may disappear.
  • Environment note: The floating toolbar must be visible in the current editing view.
