1. Delete a master or layout
Entry: Review tab → Slide Master → Slide Master tab → Delete
- Open the presentation that you want to clean up.
- On the Review tab, click Slide Master to enter master editing view.
- In the left thumbnail pane, select the master or layout that you want to remove.
- Click Delete to remove the selected master or layout.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The deleted master or layout no longer appears in the left thumbnail list.
- Next action available: You can continue editing other masters, close master view, or save the file.
- No unwanted change: Other unselected masters and slide content remain unchanged.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: Before deleting, confirm that the selected master or layout is no longer needed by current slides.
- Recovery: If the deletion just happened and no later action has replaced it, use Undo right away.
- View requirement: The Delete command is available only after you enter Slide Master view.
