FAQ
Can I recover a master or layout after deletion?
- If you just deleted it, keep the presentation open.
- Use Undo immediately to restore the deleted master or layout.
- If the file was already saved and closed after deletion, direct recovery is usually not available through this action alone, so check whether you still have an earlier copy of the file.
Why can’t I find the Delete button?
- Make sure the presentation is open first.
- On the Review tab, click Slide Master to enter master editing view.
- Select a master or layout in the left pane, then check whether the Delete command is available on the ribbon.
What should I check before deleting a master?
- Confirm whether the master or layout is still used by existing slides.
- If you may need the current layout result later, keep a copy of the file or note the current template structure first.
- After that, delete the item to avoid affecting later page arrangement unexpectedly.
