WPS Text Direction on macOS FAQ

Last updated:July 13, 2026

When using Text Direction, users commonly ask about 3 issue types: where to find the control, how broadly the effect applies, and how to adjust the layout after changes.

FAQ

Does the text box size change automatically after I change text direction?

  1. After you change text direction, the text arrangement inside the text box changes.
  2. When text is switched to a vertical or rotated direction, the visible width and height relationship of the text box may adapt to the content.
  3. If the layout does not look right, drag the text box border to adjust its size and position manually.

Can I change the direction of only part of the text in one text box?

  1. Text Direction usually applies to the entire text box.
  2. If you need different directions on the same slide, insert multiple text boxes and set each one separately.
  3. Then adjust the positions and alignment of those text boxes together.

How to rotate text in WPS on Mac if the result does not look obvious?

  1. First, make sure the text box or the text inside it is selected.
  2. Then check whether the current text box size is large enough to show the vertical, rotated, or stacked effect clearly.
  3. If there is only a small amount of text or the text box is too wide, reduce the width of the text box and check the result again.
