1. Insert a text box from the Insert tab

Entry point: Insert tab → Text Box

  1. Open WPS Slides and go to the slide you want to edit.
  2. Click the Insert tab on the top menu bar.
  3. Click Text Box.
  4. Select Horizontal Text Box or Vertical Text Box.
  5. Drag on the slide to draw the text box area.
  6. Enter the text you want to display.

Success Criteria

  • UI state: An editable text box appears on the current slide.
  • Next actions: You can continue typing, moving the box, or resizing it.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistakes: If you do not choose the text box type first, the text direction may not match your layout needs.

2. Insert a text box from the Home tab

Entry point: Home tab → Text Box

  1. Open WPS Slides and go to the target slide.
  2. Click the Home tab on the top menu bar.
  3. Click Text Box.
  4. Select the text box type you need.
  5. Drag on the slide to draw the text box.
  6. Enter your text and check its layout position.
