1. Insert Smart Graphics from the ribbon

Entry path: Insert tab → Smart Graphics button

  1. Open the presentation that you want to edit.
  2. Click the Insert tab on the top menu bar.
  3. Click the Smart Graphics button.
  4. Browse the available categories in the Smart Graphics panel.
  5. Select a graphic and insert it into the current slide.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: A Smart Graphics object appears on the current slide.
  • Next action available: You can continue entering text or adjusting styles.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If the target slide is not selected first, the graphic may be inserted on the wrong slide.

2. Choose a Smart Graphics type and style

Entry path: Insert tab → Smart Graphics button

  1. Click Smart Graphics on the Insert tab.
  2. Review the available graphic categories in the panel.
  3. Choose a list, process, cycle, hierarchy, relationship, or matrix layout based on your content structure.
  4. Select a suitable style and insert it.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The selected graphic layout appears on the slide.
  • Next action available: You can continue filling in content or changing its appearance.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: Choosing only by appearance can make later content organization harder.

3. Edit text inside Smart Graphics

Entry path: Select the text area inside an inserted Smart Graphics object

  1. Select the inserted Smart Graphics object on the slide.
  2. Click the text area inside the graphic.
  3. Type the content that you want to display.
  4. Continue revising text in each node as needed.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: Placeholder text is replaced with your actual content.
  • Next action available: You can continue adjusting layout, color, and style.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If you select only the whole graphic instead of the text area, you may not be able to type directly.

4. Adjust Smart Graphics colors and styles

Entry path: Select Smart Graphics → right-side properties panel

  1. Select the Smart Graphics object on the slide.
  2. Open the right-side properties panel.
  3. Change the color settings as needed.
  4. Continue adjusting the style so it matches the presentation theme.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The graphic color or style changes on the slide.
  • Next action available: You can save the file or continue editing other slides.
