WPS Line Spacing on macOS FAQ

Last updated:July 13, 2026

This FAQ covers 4 common questions about line spacing and includes a short glossary for quick reference.

FAQ

Why is the Line Spacing button grayed out?

  1. Make sure the presentation is in editing mode instead of slideshow or read-only mode.
  2. Select a text box, placeholder, or the paragraph content itself.
  3. Open the Home tab again and check whether Line Spacing becomes available.
  4. If it is still unavailable, double-click the text object to enter text editing mode and try again.

Why can’t I see an obvious change after adjusting line spacing?

  1. Check whether the selected content has only one line, because single-line text usually shows little visible change.
  2. Try selecting multiple lines of text and apply the spacing again.
  3. Check whether paragraph spacing before or after the text is also affecting the visual result.
  4. If needed, open additional settings for finer adjustment.

How do I undo a line spacing change?

  1. Use the common Mac undo shortcut ⌘+Z.
  2. Or click the Undo button in the interface to return to the previous step.
  3. If you want a different spacing value instead, open the Line Spacing menu again and choose another option.

When should I use additional settings instead of the regular line spacing menu?

  1. Use More Settings when the common spacing options do not match the slide layout you need.
  2. It is especially useful for cover descriptions, agenda slides, or longer text blocks that need finer adjustment.
  3. After changing the settings, review the full slide to check the balance between text, titles, and graphics.
