1. View the currently selected slide

Entry point: the center Editing Area in the window

  1. Open WPS Presentation and enter a presentation file.
  2. In the thumbnail pane on the left, click any slide.
  3. Check the center area of the window and confirm that the selected slide is displayed.
  4. Review the title, body text, and object layout on that page.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The center Editing Area shows the currently selected slide.
  • What you can do next: You can continue editing text or objects on that slide.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If you do not select a slide in the thumbnail pane first, the center area may still show the previous slide.

2. Enter a title or content in a placeholder

Entry point: the title or content placeholder on the current slide

  1. Select the slide you want to edit from the left pane.
  2. In the center Editing Area, click the title placeholder or content placeholder.
  3. When the cursor appears in the placeholder, type the title or body text.
  4. Click a blank area on the slide to review the result.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The placeholder shows the new title or body text.
  • What you can do next: You can continue formatting text or adding more content.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If you click an object border instead of the text area, you may enter object selection mode instead of text input mode.

3. Drag objects to adjust position and size

Entry point: a text box, picture, shape, or other object in the Editing Area

  1. In the center Editing Area, click the object you want to adjust.
  2. Move the pointer to the object border or a sizing handle.
  3. Drag the object to a new position to adjust the layout.
  4. Drag a sizing handle to change the displayed size of the object.
  5. Release the pointer and check the new position and size.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The object's position or size changes and remains on the current slide.
  • What you can do next: You can continue arranging other objects on the page.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: Dragging too quickly may move the object farther than expected.

4. Use the right-click shortcut menu for more actions

Entry point: the right-click menu on an object or page area in the Editing Area

  1. In the center Editing Area, select an object or move the pointer to the area you want to work with.
  2. Right-click the object or page area.
  3. In the shortcut menu that appears, select the command you need.
  4. Continue editing or adjusting the slide with that command.
