How-to Index

How-to Guide

1. Open multiple presentation windows

Entry point: Open multiple presentation files in WPS Slides first

  1. Open WPS Slides.
  2. Open the first presentation.
  3. Open a second presentation or more.
  4. Confirm that multiple presentation windows are already open.

Success Criteria

  • UI state: Two or more presentation windows are open on the desktop.
  • Next actions: You can go to the View tab and use Rearrange Window.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistakes: If only one presentation is open, the rearrangement effect will not be obvious.
  • Environment limits: Prepare the files you want to compare in advance.

2. Use Rearrange Window to choose a layout

Entry point: View tab > Rearrange Window

  1. In any open presentation window, click the View tab at the top.
  2. Find and click Rearrange Window.
  3. Select the layout you need.
  4. Choose Tile Horizontal, Tile Vertical, or Cascade based on your current task.

Success Criteria

  • UI state: Multiple presentation windows are rearranged in the selected layout.
  • Next actions: You can directly review, compare, or copy content across windows.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistakes: If you do not confirm that multiple windows are open first, you may not notice an obvious change after clicking the command.
  • Environment limits: When more windows are open, each window will have a smaller visible area.

3. Return to a normal viewing layout

Entry point: The maximize button in the upper-right corner of the window, or manual window adjustment

  1. After comparison is complete, select the presentation window you want to focus on.
  2. Click the maximize button in the upper-right corner of the window.
  3. If needed, drag other windows manually or close the ones you no longer need.
  4. Return to a single-window view or another layout that better fits your editing task.

Success Criteria

  • UI state: The target presentation returns to a larger single-window view.
  • Next actions: You can continue editing, presenting, or saving the file.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistakes: Do not expect the previous position of every window to be restored automatically after rearrangement; manual adjustment is usually still needed.
