How-to Guide
1. Open Reading View from the View tab
Entry: Top menu bar View tab → Reading View
- Open the presentation that you want to preview in WPS Presentation on your Mac.
- Click the View tab at the top of the window.
- Find and click Reading View.
- Check whether the slide starts displaying inside the current window.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The current presentation enters in-window playback mode.
- What you can do next: You can continue turning slides to review animations and transitions.
- No unwanted effect: You do not need to switch directly to a full-screen slide show.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: If no presentation is open, the related entry may not be available.
- Environment note: Make sure the file is open in WPS Presentation.
2. Open Reading View from the bottom status bar
Entry: Bottom status bar → Reading View
- Open the presentation and stay in the editing interface.
- Find the Reading View button on the bottom status bar.
- Click the button to enter Reading View.
- Review the current slide playback effect inside the window.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The slide is shown in Reading View inside the current window.
- What you can do next: You can continue checking transitions and display effects.
- No unwanted effect: You can return to Normal View after checking and continue editing.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: If the status bar area is narrow, first make sure the window is displayed normally.

3. Turn slides and exit Reading View
Entry: Direct actions after entering Reading View
- In Reading View, click the left mouse button or press the Spacebar to move to the next slide.
- Review animations, transitions, and the overall presentation effect slide by slide.
- Press Esc when you finish checking the presentation.
- Return to Normal View and continue editing or saving the file.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: You can move through slides normally and return to the editing interface after exiting.
- What you can do next: After exiting, you can continue editing, saving, or entering Reading View again.
- No unwanted effect: Switching viewing modes does not change the original presentation content.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: Reading View is for preview, so edit the content after you exit the mode.
