How-to Guide
1. Insert a Formula from the Ribbon
Entry point: Top menu bar > Insert tab > Formula button
- Open the presentation you want to edit.
- Click the Insert tab on the top menu bar.
- Click the drop-down arrow next to Formula.
- Select a preset formula, or click Insert New Formula.
- Enter the content in the formula editing area.
- Click outside the editor to finish inserting the formula.
Success Criteria
- A formula object appears on the current slide.
- The formula content is visible and can still be selected or moved.
- Other slide content remains unchanged.
Tips While Using
- If you need a more complex expression, switch to LaTeX input directly.
- After insertion, the formula object can still be edited and repositioned.
2. Enter a Formula with LaTeX Syntax
Entry point: Top menu bar > Insert tab > Formula > LaTeX
- Open the Insert tab in your presentation.
- Open the Formula drop-down menu.
- Select the LaTeX input mode.
- Type the formula with LaTeX syntax in the editing area.
- Review the preview result and confirm the content.
- Click Insert to finish.
Success Criteria
- The formula appears on the slide based on the LaTeX content you entered.
- The preview matches the intended expression.
- The inserted formula can be selected and edited again.
Tips While Using
- LaTeX syntax must be entered correctly, or the display result may be affected.
- For complex formulas, check the preview in parts before inserting.
3. Edit a Formula in the Formula Editor
Entry point: Double-click an inserted formula > Formula editor toolbar
- Select the formula object already inserted on the slide.
- Double-click the formula to open the formula editor.
- Use symbols and structures in the toolbar to add content.
- Edit the mathematical expression directly.
- Click outside the editor to finish.
Success Criteria
- The original formula content is updated.
- The revised formula remains on the current slide.
- The formula object can still be moved, resized, or edited again.
Tips While Using
- Before double-clicking, make sure you selected the formula object instead of a text box.
- After editing, check the size and position so the formula matches the slide layout.
