Feature entry: Insert tab → Header & Footer

  1. Click the Insert tab on the top menu bar.
  2. Click the Header & Footer button.
  3. In the dialog box, set the options you need:
    • Date and Time: choose a fixed date or automatic update.
    • Slide Number: show the slide number.
    • Footer: enter footer text.
    • Don’t show on title slide: exclude the title slide.
  4. Click Apply or Apply to All.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The current slide or all slides show the selected date, number, or footer text.
  • Next action available: You can continue editing, presenting, or printing the file.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If you only want to change the current slide, click Apply instead of Apply to All.

  1. Open the Header & Footer dialog box.
  2. Select the Notes and Handouts tab.
