1. Set a solid background from the Design tab
Entry path: Top Design tab → Background button
- Select the slide that you want to edit.
- Click the Design tab.
- Click Background to open the Object Properties panel on the right.
- Select Solid Fill in the panel.
- Click Color to choose a background color.
- Drag the Transparency slider to adjust background transparency.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The current slide shows the selected solid background.
- Next action available: You can continue changing the color, adjusting transparency, or applying the setting to all slides.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: If the target slide is not selected first, you may edit the active slide instead of the intended one.
2. Set a solid background from the left thumbnail shortcut menu
Entry path: Left slide thumbnail pane shortcut menu → Format Background
- Right-click the target slide in the left thumbnail pane.
- Select Format Background.
- In the Object Properties panel on the right, select Solid Fill.
- Set the fill color and transparency.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The background settings panel appears on the right, and the current slide background updates.
- Next action available: You can continue changing the color or apply the setting to all slides.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: If you right-click the wrong thumbnail, the background of the wrong slide may be changed.
3. Set a solid background from the editing canvas shortcut menu
Entry path: Blank area in the slide editing canvas shortcut menu → Format Background
- Right-click a blank area in the slide editing canvas.
- Select Format Background.
- In the Object Properties panel on the right, select Solid Fill.
- Set the fill color and transparency.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The current slide background updates based on your settings.
- Next action available: You can continue fine-tuning transparency or apply the setting to all slides.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: If you right-click on an object instead of a blank area, the shortcut menu may be different from the background settings menu.
4. Apply the solid background to all slides
Entry path: Bottom of the Object Properties panel → Apply to All
- Use any available entry point to finish setting the solid background color and transparency.
- Click Apply to All at the bottom of the Object Properties panel.
- Check other slides to confirm that the same background style has been applied.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: Slides across the whole presentation keep the same background style.
- Next action available: You can continue editing content without affecting text or object layout.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: If you click Apply to All before confirming the current background settings, you may need to adjust all slides again.
