1. Set image width
Entry: Picture Tools tab → Size area → Width box
- Select the image you want to resize.
- Click the Picture Tools tab.
- Find the Width box in the Size area.
- Enter the width value you need in centimeters, or use the control to fine-tune it.
- Press Enter to apply the new width.
Success Check
- What you should see: the image width updates to the value you entered.
- What you can do next: continue adjusting height, position, or other picture formatting.
Notes
- Common issue: if the image is not selected first, the Picture Tools tab will not appear.
- Limitation: if the image shape changes after width adjustment, check whether Lock aspect ratio should be enabled.
2. Set image size precisely in the Size and Position pane
Entry: Picture Tools tab → dialog launcher in the Size area → Size and Position pane
- Select the image and click the Picture Tools tab.
- Click the dialog launcher in the lower-right corner of the Size area.
- Open the Size and Position pane.
- In the Size and Properties tab, set Height, Width, Scale Height, and Scale Width.
- Turn on Lock aspect ratio or relative-to-original-size settings as needed.
- If you want slide-fit related adjustment options, review the available pane settings; if you want the original size back, click Reset.
Success Check
- What you should see: the right-side pane shows picture size settings.
- What you can do next: continue adjusting scale or restore the original size in the same pane.
Notes
- Common issue: when Lock aspect ratio is enabled, changing width or height can update the other value automatically.
- Limitation: the pane settings apply to the currently selected image only.
3. Open Object Properties from the right-click menu and adjust size
Entry: Right-click the image → Set Object Format
- Select the image and right-click it.
- Choose Set Object Format.
- In the Object Properties pane on the right, click the Size and Properties tab.
- Expand Size to adjust width, height, or related scaling settings.
Success Check
- What you should see: the Object Properties pane opens with the Size and Properties tab available.
- What you can do next: continue editing picture dimensions in the same pane.
Notes
- Common issue: if you right-click blank space or another object, the pane will not open for the current image.
4. Use the task pane property button to adjust size
Entry: Task pane → Property button
- Select the image.
- Click the Property button in the task pane on the right.
- Click the Size and Properties tab.
- Expand Size and adjust the settings you need.
Success Check
- What you should see: the task pane switches to picture property settings.
- What you can do next: continue changing width, height, and related properties.
Notes
- Common issue: if no image is selected, the task pane may show settings for another object instead.
