How-to Index

How-to Guide

1. Open Text Properties

Feature entry: Animations tab → Text Properties

  1. Select an object that already has an animation and contains text.
  2. Click the Animations tab at the top.
  3. Click Text Properties.
  4. Open the menu and prepare to choose a playback method.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: You can see options such as Play All, By Paragraph, By Character, and More Text Animations.
  • Next action available: You can continue by selecting any text playback option.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If no object is selected, you may not be able to set text properties directly.
  • Environment note: Text Properties only works for objects that contain text.

2. Set Play All

Feature entry: Animations tab → Text PropertiesPlay All

  1. Select an object that already has an animation and contains text.
  2. Open the Text Properties menu.
  3. Select Play All.
  4. Preview the animation and confirm that the text appears as one whole object.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The text appears as one complete object during playback.
  • Next action available: You can continue adjusting other animation settings or preview the slide show.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If the object itself does not already have an animation, the text playback style will not show the expected result.

3. Set By Paragraph

Feature entry: Animations tab → Text PropertiesBy Paragraph

  1. Select an animated object that contains multiple paragraphs of text.
  2. Click Text Properties.
  3. Select By Paragraph.
  4. Preview the animation and check whether the text appears paragraph by paragraph.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The text plays in paragraph order, one part at a time.
  • Next action available: You can continue refining the paragraph content or combine it with other animation settings.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If the object contains only one paragraph, the segmented effect may not be obvious.
  • Environment note: This option is more suitable for bullet points, listed explanations, or multi-paragraph text objects.

4. Set By Character or Open More Text Animations

Feature entry: Animations tab → Text PropertiesBy Character / More Text Animations

  1. Select an object that already has an animation and contains text.
  2. Click Text Properties.
  3. Select By Character to reveal text one character at a time, or select More Text Animations to open more detailed settings.
  4. Preview the result and continue adjusting it to match your presentation pace.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: After selecting By Character, the text appears character by character; after selecting More Text Animations, a more detailed settings area opens.
  • Next action available: You can continue refining the animation or return to the slide for preview.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: Character-by-character playback works better for short text or emphasis; long paragraphs may slow the presentation rhythm.
  • Environment note: Different text playback methods can be combined with different animation effects.
