When using WPS Text Properties, common questions usually involve finding the entry, understanding playback differences, creating a character-by-character effect, and checking whether the selected object supports the feature; this FAQ includes 4 common questions and a glossary.
FAQ
Why can’t I find the Text Properties button?
- Make sure you are working in WPS Presentation rather than another WPS app.
- Select an object that already has an animation and contains text.
- Click the Animations tab and check whether Text Properties appears.
- If the object does not contain text, switch to a text box, a shape with text, or another text-based object and try again.
What is the difference between Text Properties and animation properties?
- Animation properties are mainly used to control the animation effect itself, such as direction, timing, or related parameters.
- Text Properties is used to control how the text plays within that animation.
- If you want text to appear all at once, by paragraph, or by character, use Text Properties first.
- If you need more detailed animation adjustments, continue with other animation settings afterward.
How do I make text appear character by character?
- Select an object that already has an animation and contains text.
- Click Text Properties on the Animations tab.
- Select By Character.
- Play the slide or preview the animation to confirm that the text appears one character at a time.
Why don’t I see an obvious change after applying a setting?
- Check whether the object already has an animation.
- Check whether the object actually contains text.
- If the text is very short or has only one paragraph, the difference between playback modes may be less noticeable.
- Try testing with multi-paragraph text or switch to By Character for a more visible change.
