How do I make an animation play automatically?

  1. Select an object that already has an animation.
  2. Open the Start drop-down button on the Animation tab.
  3. Choose With Previous or After Previous.
  4. Preview the playback result and confirm that the animation starts without a manual click.

How do I set the animation playback length?

  1. Select an object that already has an animation.
  2. Find the Duration input box on the Animation tab.
  3. Enter the number of seconds you want, or use the up and down arrows.
  4. Preview the animation and confirm that the speed feels right.

Why can’t I use the timing controls?

  1. Confirm that the current object already has an animation effect.
  2. Confirm that the correct object is selected.
  3. Open the Animation tab and check whether the Timing area is available.
  4. If needed, reselect the object and try the settings again.

Why is the animation order still not what I expected after setting a delay?

  1. Check the current Start option for the animation.
  2. Confirm whether it is set to On Click, With Previous, or After Previous.
  3. Review the Delay value and make sure it works with the selected start option.
