How-to Guide
1. Open Version History
Entry point: Top-right "≡" icon → Backup & Restore → Version History
- Open a spreadsheet file that has already been saved to WPS Cloud Documents.
- Tap the top-right "≡" icon.
- Tap Backup & Restore.
- Select Version History.
- View the version list for the current document in the pop-up panel.
Success Criteria
- UI state: The Version History list opens.
- Next actions: You can choose a version to rename, preview, restore, save as, or delete.
Tips While Using
- Environment limits: Files that are not saved to WPS Cloud Documents cannot use this feature.
- Environment limits: A network connection is required to view cloud version records.
2. Rename a Version
Entry point: Top-right "≡" icon → Backup & Restore → Version History → "..." icon → Rename
- Open the Version History list.
- Find the version you want to rename.
- Tap the "..." icon next to that version.
- Tap Rename.
- Enter a name and tap OK.
Success Criteria
- UI state: The selected version shows the new name.
- Next actions: You can identify that version more quickly later by name.
Tips While Using
- Common mistakes: Confirm that you selected the correct version before renaming it so different time points do not get mixed up.
3. Preview a Version
Entry point: Top-right "≡" icon → Backup & Restore → Version History → "..." icon → Preview
- Open the Version History list.
- Find the version you want to preview.
- Tap the "..." icon next to that version.
- Tap Preview.
- Review the content of that version.
Success Criteria
- UI state: The selected historical version opens.
- Next actions: You can decide whether to restore it or save it as a new file.

- Common mistakes: Check the version time or name before previewing so you do not open the wrong version.
4. Restore a Version
Entry point: Top-right "≡" icon → Backup & Restore → Version History → "..." icon → Restore to this version
- Open the Version History list.
- Find the version you want to restore.
- Tap the "..." icon next to that version.
- Tap Restore to this version.
- Wait for the file to return to the selected version.
Success Criteria
- UI state: The current file content switches to the selected historical state.
- Next actions: You can continue editing, saving, or checking other versions.
Tips While Using
- Common mistakes: Preview the version first when needed so you can confirm the content before restoring it.
5. Save a Version as a New File
Entry point: Top-right "≡" icon → Backup & Restore → Version History → "..." icon → Save As & Open
- Open the Version History list.
- Find the version you want to save separately.
- Tap the "..." icon next to that version.
- Tap Save As & Open.
- Save that historical version as a new file and open it.
Success Criteria
- UI state: A new file copy opens.
- Next actions: You can keep and edit the original file and the new file separately.

- Common mistakes: Confirm the target version before saving it as a new file so you do not create a copy from the wrong version.
6. Delete a Version
Entry point: Top-right "≡" icon → Backup & Restore → Version History → "..." icon → Delete Version
- Open the Version History list.
- Find the version you want to delete.
- Tap the "..." icon next to that version.
- Tap Delete Version.
- Complete the deletion.
Success Criteria
- UI state: The selected version is removed from the Version History list.
- Next actions: You can continue managing other versions.
