When using Version History, the most common questions are about prerequisites, long-term retention, and storage management; this FAQ covers 3 frequent questions and practical suggestions.

FAQ

Why can't I see the Version History entry?

  1. Confirm that the current file has been saved to WPS Cloud Documents.
  2. Make sure you opened a cloud document instead of a file stored only on the device.
  3. Keep the network available, reopen the file, and then tap the top-right "≡" icon to check for Version History under Backup & Restore.

Can I keep historical versions for a long time?

  1. Rename any version that you want to identify for a longer period.
  2. If you need to keep it as a separate file, use Save As & Open.
  3. For important content, keep a clear version name or a separate copy so it is easier to find later.

What should I do if historical versions take up too much space?

  1. Open the Version History list and check whether there are older versions you no longer need.
  2. Prioritize cleanup in larger files if they contain many unnecessary versions.
  3. For key versions you still need, rename them or save them as separate files before continuing cleanup.
