1. Set password encryption for a document

Entry: Tap the top-right "≡" icon → Document Encryption → turn on the Password Encryption switch

  1. Open the spreadsheet document that you want to protect.
  2. Tap the top-right "≡" icon.
  3. Select Document Encryption from the list.
  4. Turn on the Password Encryption switch.
  5. Set a password in the pop-up panel.
  6. To limit viewing, set an open password.
  7. To limit editing, set a modify password.
  8. Tap OK to finish.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The document encryption settings are saved.
  • What you can do next: The document will require password verification based on the rules you set when it is opened or edited again.

Tips While Using

  • Keep the password in a safe place. If you forget it, direct recovery is not available.
  • For stronger protection, you can set both an open password and a modify password.

2. Manage encryption settings for an existing document

Entry: Tap the top-right "≡" icon → Document Encryption

  1. Open a spreadsheet document that already has encryption settings.
  2. Tap the top-right "≡" icon.
  3. Select Document Encryption from the list.
  4. Turn off Set Open Password or Set Modify Password as needed.
  5. Tap Done to save the updated settings.
