Why is the Track Referenced Cells button grayed out?
- Confirm that the currently selected cell contains a formula.
- If you selected a plain value or text cell, switch to a formula cell.
- Click Track Referenced Cells on the Formulas tab again.
What should I do if there are too many arrows on the sheet?
- Open the Remove Arrows drop-down on the Formulas tab.
- Select Remove All Arrows to clear the current tracer marks.
- Return to the target formula cell and trace again level by level.
How do I return after a dashed arrow takes me to another worksheet?
- Note your current worksheet position before jumping.
- After checking the target worksheet, use the back control in the window or your usual undo method to return.
- If needed, run the tracing command again to confirm the reference path.
