Why is the Track Referenced Cells command grayed out or unavailable?

  1. Check whether the selected cell contains a formula.
  2. If you selected a regular data cell, switch to a formula cell and try again.
  3. Click Track Referenced Cells on the Formulas tab again.

What should I do if there are too many arrows to read clearly?

  1. Click the Remove Arrows drop-down command on the Formulas tab.
  2. Select Remove All Arrows to clear the current tracing marks.
  3. Return to the target formula cell and trace only the level you need.

How do I return after jumping to another worksheet from a dashed arrow?

  1. Confirm that you moved by using a black dashed arrow.
  2. Use the back button at the top-left area of the window to return to the previous location.
  3. If supported in your current workflow, you can also try Undo to go back.
