FAQ

Why does the COLUMN function show #VALUE! after I enter it?

  1. Check whether the reference or entered content includes text, spaces, or an invalid format.
  2. Make sure the symbols in the formula are correct, especially parentheses and English punctuation.
  3. If the source data is complex, clear the cell content and enter the formula again.

Why is the COLUMN result different from what I expected?

  1. Confirm that the reference range is correct and that you selected the intended cell or area.
  2. Check whether the reference changed after you copied the formula.
  3. Use formula evaluation tools to review the calculation process step by step.

How to use the COLUMN function in WPS across multiple cells?

  1. Enter and confirm the COLUMN formula in the first target cell.
  2. Select that cell and move the pointer to the fill handle in the lower-right corner.
  3. Drag down or across to fill the target range, or use copy and paste for batch application.
