How-to Guide

1. Add Attachments

Entry path: Comment tab → Attachment

  1. Open the PDF file that you want to edit.
  2. Click the Comment tab on the top menu bar.
  3. Click Attachment.
  4. In the file selection dialog box, choose the file that you want to attach.
  5. Click Open to confirm.
  6. Click the location on the page where you want to place the attachment icon.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: An attachment icon appears on the page.
  • Next action available: When you move the pointer over the icon, the file name prompt is shown.

Tips While Using

  • Membership: Adding attachments requires PDF editing access through membership.
  • File impact: Because the file is embedded into the PDF, the saved PDF usually becomes larger.

2. Open Attachments

Entry path: Double-click the attachment icon on the page

  1. Open the PDF file that already contains an attachment.
  2. Find the attachment icon on the page.
  3. Double-click the attachment icon.
  4. Open or download the attached file based on your system handling method.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The system starts opening or downloading the attached file.
  • Next action available: You can review the attached file and then return to the PDF for more work.

Tips While Using

  • Access: Make sure the attachment icon in the document is available and responsive.
  • Environment: Whether the file opens directly depends on whether your computer has an app that supports that file type.

3. Delete Attachments

Entry path: Right-click the attachment icon

  1. Open the PDF file that contains the attachment.
  2. Find the attachment icon that you want to remove.
  3. Right-click the attachment icon.
  4. Select Delete from the shortcut menu.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The attachment icon disappears from the page.
  • Next action available: After you save the PDF, the removed attachment is no longer kept in the file.

Tips While Using

  • Membership: Deleting attachments is part of PDF editing and requires the related membership capability.
  • File impact: Confirm that the attachment is no longer needed before removing it from the PDF.
