How-to Guide

1. Apply from the Ribbon

Entry point: Edit tab → Edit Content → Text Edit → Page Number

  1. Open the PDF file that you want to edit.
  2. Click the Edit tab on the top menu bar.
  3. Click Edit Content to enter content editing mode.
  4. Click Text Edit on the toolbar to switch to text editing mode.
  5. Select the text that you want to format.
  6. Click the Page Number button on the toolbar to apply the effect.

Success Criteria

  • UI state: After the text is selected, the page number effect is applied to the current text content.
  • Next actions: You can continue selecting other text and repeat the action, or save the document.

Tips While Using

  • Membership: This feature requires WPS Premium.
  • Common mistakes: If you do not enter text editing mode first, the related button may not work as expected.
  • Environment limits: Text in scanned PDFs may need recognition before it can be edited.

2. Apply from the Floating Toolbar

Entry point: Floating toolbar after selecting text → Page Number

  1. Open the PDF file and enter Edit Content mode.
  2. Click Text Edit to make sure you are in text editing mode.
  3. Select the text that you want to format.
  4. Click the Page Number button on the floating toolbar above the text.
  5. Confirm that the page number effect has been applied to the selected text.

Success Criteria

  • UI state: After text is selected, the floating toolbar appears and the effect is applied immediately after you click the command.
  • Next actions: You can repeat the action on other text or save your changes directly.

  • Membership: This feature requires WPS Premium.
