1. Apply Superscript
Entry path: Text Editing → Superscript/Subscript button → X²
- Open the PDF and switch to text editing mode.
- Select the text that you want to format as superscript.
- Click the superscript and subscript control in the toolbar.
- Choose X² from the drop-down menu.
- Confirm that the selected text appears above the baseline.

2. Apply Subscript
Entry path: Text Editing → Superscript/Subscript button → X₂
- Open the PDF and switch to text editing mode.
- Select the text that you want to format as subscript.
- Click the superscript and subscript control in the toolbar.
- Choose X₂ from the drop-down menu.

Entry path: Text Editing → Superscript/Subscript button
- Open the PDF and switch to text editing mode.
- Select text that already has superscript or subscript formatting.
- Click the superscript and subscript control.
- Click the currently applied superscript or subscript option again in the drop-down menu.
- Confirm that the text returns to normal formatting.
Success Criteria
- Visual result: The text returns to the normal baseline position.
