1. Apply italic from the ribbon

Entry path: Edit tab → Edit Content → Italic button

  1. Click the Edit tab on the top menu bar.
  2. Click Edit Content to enter content editing mode.
  3. Select the text that you want to format in italic.
  4. Click the Italic button (I icon) on the toolbar.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The selected text appears in italic style.
  • What you can do next: You can continue adjusting bold, underline, or color for the same text.

Tips While Using

  • Enter Edit Content mode first, or PDF text cannot be changed directly.
  • Select text before using the Italic button.

2. Apply italic from the floating toolbar

Entry path: Floating toolbar after text selection → Italic button

  1. In text editing mode, select the text that you want to format in italic.
  2. Wait for the floating toolbar to appear above the selected text.
  3. Click the Italic button (I icon) on the floating toolbar.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The selected text switches to italic immediately.
  • What you can do next: You can continue adjusting other text formatting options from the floating toolbar.

Tips While Using

  • If the floating toolbar does not appear, select the text again and retry.
  • Text inside scanned-image PDFs usually cannot be edited this way until OCR is completed.

3. Apply italic with the keyboard shortcut

Entry path: Keyboard shortcut Ctrl+I

  1. Select the text that you want to format in italic.
  2. Press Ctrl+I to apply italic.
  3. Press Ctrl+I again if you want to remove italic.

  • Interface result: The selected text switches between regular and italic style.
  • What you can do next: You can continue editing with the keyboard.

Tips While Using

  • Make sure the cursor focus is inside an editable PDF text area.
