How-to Guide

1. Erase with Brush Selection

Entry path: EditEraseBrush Selection

  1. Open the PDF file you want to edit.
  2. Click the Edit tab on the top menu bar.
  3. Click the Erase button.
  4. Select Brush Selection from the menu.
  5. Choose the brush tip type, either rounded or square.
  6. Set the line width from 1–12 pt.
  7. Hold the left mouse button and draw over the area you want to erase.
  8. Release the mouse button to erase the selected content.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: the brushed area appears erased on the page.
  • Next action available: you can continue erasing other areas or save the file.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: if the line width is too thin, the target area may not be fully covered. Adjust the width first if needed.
  • Membership: this feature requires WPS Premium.

2. Erase with Rectangular Selection

Entry path: EditEraseRectangular Selection

  1. Open the PDF file you want to edit.
  2. Click the Erase button.
  3. Select Rectangular Selection from the menu.
  4. Hold the left mouse button and drag to create a rectangle.
  5. Release the mouse button to erase the content inside the rectangle.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: the selected rectangular area appears erased.
  • Next action available: you can continue selecting other areas or save the current PDF.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: if the selected range is too large, nearby content may also be affected. Check the page position before dragging.
  • Membership: this feature requires WPS Premium.

3. Set the Erasure Color

Entry path: EraseColor Picker

  1. Open the PDF and enter an erasure-related tool.
  2. Click the Erase button.
  3. Choose the fill color for erased areas in the color picker.
  4. Select from automatic color pick, theme colors, standard colors, or custom colors as needed.
  5. Perform the erasure action, and the erased area will display the selected color.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: the erased area displays the currently selected fill color.
  • Next action available: you can continue using brush selection or rectangular selection.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: if you change the color after finishing an erasure, check the display result for later erasures again.
